Why Do Milestones Matter?

Being involved in a lot of patent cases isn’t always the best indicator of a firm’s patent litigation experience. At Docket Navigator, we look at patent litigation data from many different angles. Another way to measure a firm’s experience is to analyze the number of completed milestones that occurred in the firm’s cases. In this way, hard-fought cases are given more weight than cases that settle at an early stage. In 2015, the top firms in district court cases, based on the number of completed milestones, are listed below. For more information about case milestones, see pages 14-17 & 55 of the 2015 Year in Review Report.
